Aim at Base of Fire

Presenting an installation by artist Zach Dobbins, whose practice utilizes installation and sculpture to relate to themes of safety and fear present through Americana.

The fire extinguisher, found laying dormant in any interior residential or commercial space, serves its primary function but more often fights fear rather than the danger itself.

Dobbins’ custom-fabricated extinguishers have been changed in ways that undermine their function and familiarity, subverting the safety they are meant to provide.
